Tucked down a quiet lane off the road that joins Seminyak to Canggu, Villa Virginia is nothing less than the perfect combination of location and comfort. With a gorgeous private pool and four double bedrooms, this villa suits large groups and is decorated with a modern Balinese flair that provides a sense of peace and space which is hard to find in busy Bali. The villa is in the village of Berawa which means it’s walking distance to Batu Belig Beach in one direction and just as close in the other direction to Canggu Square and Finns Recreation Club. Whichever way you go you’ll find plenty of spas, supermarkets and shops. You can walk to these places or use a driver to take you a little further. On one side – deep into the heart of laid-back Canggu. On the other – the vibing restaurant scene of Seminyak. Villa Virginia is the ideal spot for those who want the best of both worlds.
The master bedroom is on the ground floor, overlooking the pool but neatly separated from the living area, You’ll love the simple white and red colour scheme. Soft linens and a minimalist design style give you the space to spread out with plenty of storage too. The bathroom is flooded with natural light and has an ethereal feel with its rainwater shower and mounted bathtub. You can lie back and relax in a petal bath while the foliage that rings the space creates an intimate jungle vibe which you won’t want to leave behind!
The other three bedrooms are upstairs. The first has a low mounted bed with colorful accents. There’s a view over the neighbouring rice paddy field and another top of the line bathroom with lovely fittings to wash away your troubles at the end of the day. The third and fourth bedrooms are adjoined by wooden sliding doors, they are both double rooms but are perfect for a family or couple who wants some extra space while still remaining close by. These rooms are both completed with luxurious and spacious bathrooms and share a balcony that looks out over the pool then further on towards the rice fields behind.
The living area has several spots to relax and is decorated with a range of vibrant art and carved wooden pieces in recycled wood. You’ll find tones of yellow and red set off the dark wood furnishings. The dining room table sets eight and is served by a fully equipped kitchen that includes and oven and a stove top allowing you or your chef to prepare scrumptious meals to enjoy together. The sleek black fittings of the kitchen give a tidy, modern feel to the kitchen space which is fully equipped with everything you could need. There’s even a breakfast bar with comfy stools in case you feel like being informal.
The lounge area is best described as a haven of relaxation with a long L shaped couch that’ll take the whole group for relaxing afternoons in front of a movie on the flat screen television. If you want to keep cool, close the doors and use the air-conditioning and fans throughout the living area. But you can also open the shuttered wooden doors and invite the breeze in as you go from pool to lounge and back again without interruption!
The pool itself is a fresh, deep blue and long enough for morning laps while safe enough for the kids to splash around while you relax on the red cushioned sun loungers. The garden surrounding the pool is well manicured with enough space for games and an even outdoor shower so you can wash off without dripping through the house. It’s an idyllic setting to either lounge poolside or float on your back and look up at the blue Bali skies. Villa Virginia offers perfect privacy with a high wall and soaring palms that will wave in the breeze giving you that unbeatable island feeling.
Villa Virginia is staffed by warm Balinese housekeepers, a villa manager and a security guard. Speak to them for anything you may need, they’re happy to help you plan tours around the island, order drivers or even just provide petals for a relaxing bath. The garden and pool will be kept immaculate during your stay and there are plenty of extra services available if you need them. For an extra charge you can organise a masseuse, a chef or even a nanny. The staff are discrete and happy to help.
Villa Virginia is located on a quiet lane off Jl Subak Sari. Close by is the Desa Seni School of yoga with classes of all sorts to suit any yogi. There’s also a few nice cafes and homeware stores along Subak Sari including MyWarung, which is known to serve the best steak in Bali. If you’re up for some pampering, the Body Sense Spa is directly down from Gang Tulip, where Villa Virginia is located. In walking distance is Savage cafe with great coffee and don’t forget the handy supermarket which is stocked well with western food including a bakery, a variety of cheeses, fruits and wines galore. If you’re thinking of a night out then La Laguna is very close and has a tropical beachy vibe where you can sit on beach side tables lit by candles and watch the sun go down.
