Villa Arimbi

Villa Arimbi is a 5-bedroom tropical luxury retreat located just a 5-minute walk from Mertasari Beach in peaceful and charming Sanur. This tropical vacation home allows you to experience the island lifestyle in luxury. Villa Arimbi will enchant you with its beauty, charm you out with its tropical flair and pamper you with modern luxuries. This 5-bedroom holiday estate is spread out across 1600m2 of prime land in Sanur, within walking distance from Mertasari Beach. Villa Arimbi used to be part of Taman Mertasari Estate, founded by a group of friends who fell in love with Bali back in the 80ties, including the artist Brent Hesselyn.

Villa Arimbi still exudes an old-age colonial air, featuring pretty gardens and tranquil lotus ponds, rustic teak wooden houses with ‘alang alang’ thatched rooftops and sophisticated interior designs ruled by teak wood and art.

A traditional Balinese ‘aling aling’ gate protects the villa from evil spirits and behind the gate lies a tropical paradise with manicured lawns, scenting frangipani trees, towering palms and peaceful ponds with fountains.

This sprawling garden was designed by the famous tropical garden designer Made Wijaya, known for the work he did on David Bowie’s holiday home on Mustique Island. Villa Arimbi has been featured in many design books and it is gorgeous indeed, with a whole lot of soul and luxury. 6 traditional Balinese pavilions are scattered around in the massive garden, surrounding the glistening private swimming pool and the lily and lotus ponds.

The main open-plan living space comes with a shady veranda to soak up the tropical surroundings, inhaling the fresh ocean breeze and scenting the frangipani flowers. There are comfy sofas and armchairs to lounge on and there is a large 10-seater dining table for families and friends to gather at dinner time.

A second open-plan living space is found by the poolside, featuring more lounge spots, a big flat-screen television with satellite channels and a bar with stools to sit and sip cocktails.

In the daytime, you can spend hours and hours by the poolside, swimming in the 12-meter lap pool, sunbathing on the white timber sun loungers, chilling in the jacuzzi or reading a book in the shady bale. However, the most amazing garden hang-out spot is in the gazebo that is surrounded by lily and lotus ponds. A wonderful place to sit and have drinks or snooze a little as if spending the afternoon in paradise.

Villa Arimbi also features a private spa with 2 massage beds for some more in-villa bliss.

Bedrooms

Home to 5 bedroom suites, Villa Arimbi can accommodate up to 10 people.

The 5 bedrooms are divided over 3 sleeping pavilions and all 5 bedrooms are rustic, spacious and air-conditioned, equipped with safety boxes and adjoined by tropical en-suite bathrooms with partly open-air designs. Two of the en-suites are even fitted with luxurious bathtubs.

The Temple Pavilion houses the king-bedded Orient Express room on the first floor and the twin-bedded Nomad Room on the first floor, making it a great family compound.

The Pond Pavilion houses the Shalimar room on the first floor and the Uluwatu room on ground level.

Shalimar is adjoined to a semi-open office space which can also be set up as an extra sleeping room with one single bed.

The 5th bedroom is cozy and private with a small private terrace in the front. Additionally, there is a traditional Lumbung pavilion which can be set up as an extra bedroom, ideal for a teenager or two.
